Overage
Past the included checks
A plan's included checks are a floor, not a wall. What happens next depends on the plan.
Free plan
The free plan stops at its included checks. The API answers 429 quota_exceeded until the next period starts. Nothing is billed.
Paid plans
Each started thousand past the included checks costs €2 on Starter, €1.60 on Growth and €1.20 on Scale. It is billed on your next invoice, as one line.
Your spending cap
You set the most you accept to pay in overage. By default it is twice the plan's price. At the cap the API answers 429 quota_exceeded until the next period, or until you raise it.

About pricing
- What counts as a check?
- One image or one text, whatever the number of categories it is checked against. Text in images, QR codes, links and custom categories are included.
- What happens when the free plan runs out?
- The API answers 429 quota_exceeded until the next period starts. Nothing is billed. Upgrade at any time to go on at once.
- How is overage billed?
- By the started thousand, on your next invoice, as one line. Your spending cap limits it.
- Can I change or cancel my plan?
- Yes, from the billing page, through Stripe's customer portal. If you change plan partway through a billing period, the new plan's included checks are prorated by the time left in the period, and the next period starts with all of them. Export your workflows, journal and usage first: after you delete the organization they stay available for 30 days.
- Are these prices final, and what about VAT?
- These are the beta prices, in euros. VAT is not included and is added at checkout where it applies. openshield is sold to businesses.
